How to File Form GST REG-18 for Reply to Show Cause Notice? When you receive a show cause notice, you should file a form GST REG-18 to respond. The notice includes the effective date, which is critical for calculating your taxes. The notice also requires you to pay the tax invoice by a certain date.
Depending on the notice, you may be required to pay the demand immediately or wait until the effective date to pay the demand. Once you receive the notice, you must respond within 15 days, or another time frame as set by the refund processing officer. Otherwise, the refund will be marked as "Pending Order-Reply not received".
You must include the deficiency memo along with your reply. The Refund Processing Officer will use this to review your reply and issue a Refund Rejection/Sanction Order (GST REG-18) for your refund. However, you must still file a refund application if your refund is rejected. The GST REG-18 is available for download and must be filed immediately.
